In 1990 a small osteria opened in Villa Curti (the Osteria di Curti), growing out of a local grocery shop and tobacconist. In 1996 it became the Locanda Villa Curti, first as a pub and, from 2002, as the restaurant and pizzeria it is today.
Set between the towns of Ascoli Piceno and Venarotta, the Locanda Anno Mille takes its inspiration from the medieval inns that were a landmark for travellers. As in the best inns, meat dishes and traditional recipes take centre stage; thanks to the owner's endless curiosity for food, they were later joined by classic Neapolitan pizza baked in a wood-fired oven and Roman pinsa.
Alongside the kitchen, the Locanda is also a pizzeria: classic Neapolitan pizza baked in a wood-fired oven on our long-standing thin, crisp dough, and Roman pinsa. Our gourmet pizzas change with the seasons, because we always top them with seasonal ingredients.
Our doughs are made with stone-ground Senatore Cappelli flour and organic durum wheat; pizzas and pinsas are topped with stracciatella and Premium Sabelli mozzarella. A gluten-free dough is available on request when booking.
